UL Gives Back: Summer Day of Service

Each summer the division of University Life comes together, as a team, to volunteer at various service projects in the surrounding community and on our campuses.  The summer day of service has become a program that allows us to make an impact in our community in meaningful ways.

UL Gives Back 2020 Summer Day of Service is planned for Wednesday, July 22, 2020.

As a result of participation in the University Life Summer Day of Service, University Life Staff will:

  • Enhance awareness and understanding of the needs of special populations, through service projects, within our surrounding communities
  • Recognize the value of an individual contribution to the our group’s efforts toward social change (Social Change Model of Leadership)
  • Put University Life and George Mason University core values into practice through active involvement and participation in the service projects and initiatives
  • Engage with colleagues to consider possible action and application to address needs of various community populations from which our students come
  • Give back to the campus and community through service and volunteerism
  • Re-connect with fellow colleagues through service and social interaction
  • Re-energize self and units as we prepare for the new academic year
