Each summer the division of University Life comes together, as a team, to volunteer at various service projects in the surrounding community and on our campuses. The summer day of service has become a program that allows us to make an impact in our community in meaningful ways. We are pleased to share with you this year’s University Life Gives Back – Summer Day of Service is scheduled for Wednesday, July 23, 2025. We are committed to providing our staff with the opportunity to make a positive difference and give back to our communities. We are excited to share that we will be able to provide a combination of both in-person and virtual service projects.
As a result of participation in the University Life Gives Back: Summer Day of Service, University Life Staff will:
- Uphold University Life and George Mason University’s core values by giving back to the campus and community through service, volunteerism, and civic engagement.
- Recognize the value of an individual’s contribution to our community’s effort towards social change.
- Foster a holistic approach to service by recognizing the importance of educating ourselves in the following domains: civic engagement, professional development, and well-being.
- Re-energize ourselves and re-connect with colleagues as we prepare for the academic year.
More information will be available in mid May.
