Career Development in Student Affairs Week 2023

What is Career Development in Student Affairs Week?

Career Development in Student Affairs Week is our response to the dedication and enthusiasm showcased during the Careers in Student Affairs Month (CSAM) celebrated nationwide each October. Inspired by the remarkable goals set by CSAM, the Training and Development committee aims to take it a step further by dedicating an entire week to this celebration, education, and engagement right here at George Mason University.

Our Goals:

  • Professional Development: We offer a week-long extravaganza of professional development initiatives, both virtual and in-person, designed to empower our student affairs administrators at University Life. These initiatives are tailor-made to enhance your skills, expand your knowledge, and foster your career growth.
  • Awareness and Promotion: Our primary purpose is to shed light on the significance of Careers in Student Affairs Month and the invaluable resources available to you. By showcasing the pivotal role that student affairs professionals play in shaping the university experience, we aim to inspire current and future leaders in this field.
  • Multicampus Engagement: Careers in Student Affairs Week isn’t limited to just one location; it’s a university-wide celebration. With events happening across all three of our campuses, we ensure that every member of our George Mason community has an opportunity to participate and benefit from this exciting initiative.
  • Dialogue and Connection: We’re creating spaces for meaningful dialogues about pressing topics within the realm of student affairs. These conversations are essential for our growth as a profession and our ability to address the evolving needs of our students.
