Radical Chats

Radical Chats is a professional development podcast series based on the book RADICAL CANDOR engaging staff on topics of supervision, team development, & staff management.

About this Event

University Life staff are dedicated to sharpening our supervision skills and continually developing in this area of our work as professional leaders. The Radical Chats series, will provide a professional development opportunity for UL staff to engage in the topics of leadership, management, and supervision. The series will have seven meetings over the course of the Fall 2022 semester, with each session covering multiple episodes that cohort members will have listened to in advance in order to dig into the connection and conversation with colleagues. The cohort experience in this series will engage us in learning more about supervision, management and leadership topics, engaging in our own reflective practice, and participating in dialogue with colleagues to consider the concepts presented and impacts to our work and relationships. We will conclude each session with review of the Candor checklists presented in the episodes and talk about how to integrate an element into daily practice. As a cohort, we will work together to create a library of resources for each other in our shared MS Teams space.

Participants will be required to attend all six sessions to receive the book, Radical Candor, at the conclusion of the series.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Participants will engage with colleagues in conversations regarding supervision and managing supervisory relationships
  • Participants will identify action items they can implement to enhance their practice
  • Participants will gain experience of facilitating group conversations focusing on supervision and management
  • Participants will increase their self-perceived confidence in their supervision skills
